Satellites provide an ideal platform to enable non intrusive monitoring of locations, regardless of how remote they may be. Infrastructure or environmental changes whether over many years or from day-to-day can all be readily observed. Often archive data can be utilised to provide retrospective information and Synthetic Aperture Radar can enable monitoring in areas with persistent cloud. Fugro NPA can advise on which sensor is best suited to specific applications.

Temporal analysis of monthly Quickbird data is used here to monitor site development. The imagery shows over a 5 month period how an industrial development can be monitored remotely for progress. Such data can be used to both assist in confirming scheduled development is as planned and reported and also to monitor impact upon the wider environment.
